After a traumatic incident, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) transfers to a rural hospital to start over. Noticing that James is struggling and has difficulty connecting with patients, Dr. Harrison (veteran stage and film actor Michael Potts) suggests he take a class that focuses on bedside manners and deeper connections with patients. The demons of James’ past begin to catch up with him when he is consumed by the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER SOMETIMES ALWAYS) with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip as his disturbing nightmares, anxious speculations, and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson brings together a strong ensemble of veteran character actors in this humanistic, unconventional take on the genre, following in the footsteps of SAINT FRANCES β and the precursor to GHOSTLIGHT.
